Dr. Runu Sharma is a committed and compassionate oncologist with a strong foundation in both clinical medicine and research. She obtained her MBBS from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur, graduating with a Certificate of Merit in Pathology and Distinction in Pharmacology. She completed her MD in General Medicine from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior, under Jiwaji University, and later earned her DM in Medical Oncology from Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences, Indore, under Madhya Pradesh Medical Sciences University.

Additional certifications include:

PDCR (Professional Diploma in Clinical Research) from Catalyst Clinical Services, Delhi
ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology) Certification – qualified with top 75 percentile in the 2019 examination held in Chennai

During her DM, she secured the university topper position, and was awarded the Gangadhar Chitalkar and TYACAN Gold Medal for best performance.

Dr. Sharma is known for her disciplined, empathetic approach and expertise in complex cancer management. Her career includes:

  • Senior Residency in Cardiology at Gajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior

  • Senior Residency in Medicine at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences and Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur

  • DM Training in Medical Oncology (2017–2020) at SAIMS, Indore β€” a center serving over 17 districts with a population of 22 million at SAIMS, she:

  • Delivered comprehensive oncology care to patients with hematological and solid tumors

  • Managed bone marrow biopsies, central lines, intrathecal chemotherapy, and molecular diagnostics

  • Performed stem cell transplants (both autologous and allogeneic) for conditions like myeloma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and aplastic anemia

  • Led India’s first allogeneic transplant under Ayushman Bharat on 12 February 2020

  • Actively contributed to the COVID-19 response, providing secondary care in one of India’s largest COVID facilities

  • Served as Faculty at the Women’s Cancer Centre, SAIMS (from March 2020)

  • Dr Runu Sharma also undertook observer training at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, focusing on solid tumors and bone marrow transplants at ACTREC.
